Maria
is a professional flautist and harpist based in London. She studied at
London's top music college, the Royal College of Music for a total of
eight years and graduated with a II - I in Performing Arts, In addition
to winning a concerto prize in her final year.
Though classically trained, Maria remains abreast of current music and can
therefore perform a wide range of tunes from classical, show tunes,
popular ballads, music from the charts, etc. In addition, should you have
a particular request, sheet music can usually be purchased and performed,
provided enough notice is given. Maria works as a freelance soloist,
and continues to enjoy all aspects of musical performance.
She has played for theatre, session recording,
within chamber ensembles and performances include the Purcell Room on
London's South Bank, music festivals and further notable venues. Maria has
enjoyed Long term residencies within luxury hotels, notably The Ritz,
Landmark, Four Seasons on Park Lane and The Intercontinental.
Though quite use to performing at major
venues, she is equally at home, performing to a small intimate gathering,
dinner party, wedding or corporate event.
Maria recently played before HM the Queen
at the The Royal Pavilion Brighton.
It is worth noting that this very talented
harpist is also a very accomplished flautist. This can often provide an
important contrast by switching between instruments, for example to
announce the arrival of the Bride.
